The Rosette is the official school newspaper of Dr. John D. Horn High School in Mesquite, TX.  The newspaper originated as The Jag Street Journal when the school first opened its doors in 2001 and later changed its name to The Rosette. The publication wanted an original, creative name and used the mascot as inspiration.  The mascot is a jaguar, and the spots on a jaguar are called rosettes.

This is a student-run publication under the supervision of Adviser Mrs. Natalie Vigdal.  The newspaper is produced by editors and staff writers who work in a professional environment just like that of a real news room.  The goal of The Rosette is to deliver newsworthy and entertaining stories to the school and community.
